Take an epic train ride
There are several amazing train rides that you can do here in Switzerland. While staying cozy and warm and enjoying breathtaking views.
GoldenPass Express: The brand new train took its very first ride on the 11.12.22. A breathtaking route between Montreux- Gstaad- Interlaken. Undoubtedly, these are all must seen destinations. The panoramic ride takes 03:15h and covered by the GA if you have one. There is also a very luxurious Prestige Class (in the Prestige class a seat reservation in mandatory and cost 30.-). If you want to see more you can check a video that I made taking this train.
The Belle Epoque Panoramic: A wonderful train ride that takes you back in time to the 1930s. This train ride is clearly my favorite, the interior of the train is simply breathtaking and besides the point that the 1st class is more spacious the 2nd class is just as beautiful. The train does the route: Montreux- Zweisimmen and the views on the way are incredible. Including the breathtaking lake Geneva, the mountains and the Swiss country side.
Bernina Express: Definitely one of the most touristic train rides in Switzerland. Bernina Express is taking you from Chur / St. Moritz – Valposchiavo – Tirano. But you can also book a part of the route if you find the trip too long. In this link you will find all the details and the viewing points.
The Gornergrat: This route is this iconic route where you always see a picture on Instagram with someone sticking his head off the train’s window and the Matterhorn is standing in the background. Definitely a must when in Switzerland.
